Spotlamps question

At what angle should spots be positioned? Not so much a precise angle but
more a general ida of how far down (or up) they should be pointing.

I find at the road is useful...

Park on a straight level flat empty dark road, drape something over the
lights you're not adjusting, and point the spots for best illumination
of the road.

You did buy the spots to see where you're going, right?

They should come on with main beam, so set them to the same level as main
beam,

what i did was set my normal headlights to the maximum legal height limit,
then used my two outer spots to shine up the verges each side then the
middle two spots to shine up the gap straight ahead - where the normal
headlights were missing , thus bathing the road with daylight ahead of me.
