I wonder if anyone has experience problems with:
a) the wiring loom.  Mine has just ceased functioning and had to be
replaced?  £450.00 and just out of warranty!!  Luckily for me BMW were
slipshod in reminding us about extending the warranty so have paid
that which is cheaper than the repair.
(b) front tyres wearing unevenly (one set per year outside edge only
-  last set showing metal inside rubber).  Dealers have repeatedly
checked and can find say no fault.  Service engineer said "must be the
way you drive or the fact that those tyres only do 6,000 miles"!!!.  I
have 23,000 on the clock and am not exactly a "boy racer".

Many thanks

Think you might be wanting the alt.autos.new-mini newsgroup - this one's
dedicated to the proper one not the fake

Thanks sooo much for directing me to "proper" site for my NEW mini
rather than this fake site.  I live on the route of the London to
Brighton Mini Rally  -  I guess you were one of the guys that gave me
the finger!!

to be fair - i was only directing you to the most useful pool of information
mate, sorry for trying to be helpful
also, i own a Mini and a MINI so i was not one of the guys that gave you a
finger on last years london to brighton run - im not lucky to even live on
the route - i had to make a 250 mile journey to the start. gimmie a break
i flash lights at ALL minis - as i said - i have both, but think that the
BMW no way near the Mini, and is more like a middle of the road hatchback

so anyway - sorry to have p*ssed u off - but was only trying to get you the
best help possible

The site you need is the site for the FAKE MINI.

just a small correction...

this is the site for the original Mini...

The BMW version is sold and marketed as the MINI

a small but pertinenet differecne I feel....oh and I live no where near the
London to Brigthon Route, and I wouldn't have raised a finger towards you if
I had done...the Hatchback dosnt even gain that much attention from me
sorry...

"If it aint a Mini...the its just traffic"

Ryan  -  sorry for getting on my hobbie horse, I was way over
sensitive.  I never had the pleasure of owning an original mini and
its a thrill to watch them on their way to Brighton.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I have posted a message
there.

lol give me a toot when you go past Salfords next year!!

Again, my apologies  -  Vanessa

To be really sure I would get the tracking checked independently. Is the
uneven wear on one side or both, I have been told it could be due to turning
into a driveway in full lock the same way every time. In my case the
nearside tyre as I turn left into the drive every day and it effectively
scrubs the tyre as that one near enough stands still (if you know what I
mean)
This is advice for any car and the local wheel alignment centre more or less
told me I turned left into the drive and "did I live on a close" they could
of coarse said they had adjusted the tracking and charged me but they didn't
as the print out showed the alignment as correct.

Anyway just an idea, and I don't even have a Mini. (but my son does)
