Removing a Minicos Spoiler

Hello,

Does anyone out there know how to (safely) remove a minicos spoiler
fitted onto the back of my poor mini? He is a 1989-90 mini city.

I believe it is secured by at least six screws through the roof just
above the gutter. Can I remove the headlining without taking the rear
window out? More to the point, can it be removed neatly?

I realise that he will be left with six gaping holes in the roof and
was wondering the most effective way to seal them up. I was thinking
of fibre-glass filler on the underside of the roof with silicone
sealant over the top before spraying.

I am a bit reticent about removing it in case he looks worse. But I am
learning to drive in it and nobody will drive me in it as they are all
too embarrassed to be seen in it. Poor mini.

Thanks in advance,

jeff (for milo)

sorry but the rear glass and seal will have to be removed as might the rear
sides if fixed and not opening ones best to weld holes if at all poss

Thanks for that,

though it wasn't the answer I was hoping for!

I'm wondering if you have removed/fitted one previously jacko and if so
could you answer these questions>

Does it leave a mess on the roof when it is taken off?
Are the (six?) holes evenly spread along the roofline?

Thanks very much for your advice, it's appreciated.

jeff
