Hey all,

Long time no post - just not neough time to peruse the usenet I'm afraid -
but hopefully you can all forgive me and help me out with a thread size
quandry I have.

I need to find what the thread size/pitch for the 3x screws that hold each
internal door actuator thingy on, and the same thing for the things that
hold the binnacle (thing with the speedo/oil pressue/water temp in it) onto
the bulkhead.

Anyone have any ideas?
Or even know a source for them in NZ/AUS/UK? (In that order of preference).

Cheers,
Stuart

Hi,
It sounds like you have the early Mini with the sliding windows?
If so, then the screws you need should be 3/16" UNF.
The door lock ones will be about 1 1/4 inch long. The speedo housing screws
are the same size but shorter.
Hope this helps

I thought they were No. 10 UNF 32 TPI as the UNF series goes to numbers
below 1/4". 2BA will fit in non-critical applications.
10 UNF is quite difficult to get hold of these days but there are
specialists who supply it.
Email stevestainless2@aol.com and ask him. He does mail order and they won't
weigh a lot.
No connection.

I concur with John as to the size. I supply these and other Stainless
fixings for the mini ( but please dont treat this as an advert). If you get
stuck drop me a line - i will post anywhere!

Can I have an advert?  Do you have a web site.

There has never been a problem with flogging mini related wares in a.a.m so
don't worry.

Would you believe I found a blister pack of 10x no. 10 32 tpi in stainless
at the local SuperCheap Autoparts?
Couldn't find an air filter though :\

Thanks for the help guys.

Nope I've an early mk3 with windup windows.
Managed to find a wreck that still had it's doors and scavenge the screws
from that.

Now all I need are the ones for the binnacle.
