Hi all,

I bought a dodgy Mini heater off eBay, and now I need to replace the
matrix. "working when removed" was the description - yeah right.

Anyway, I now have a shiny new matrix on one side of the bench, a
casing on the other and a pile of crumbly foam bits in the middle.
Does anyone know where I can getter hold of some new foam? It doesn't
have to be the right stuff, just something that can withstand the
temperature.

Also, I'd like to replace the water valve with an electric one. Has
anyone done this already or know where I might be able to get a cheap
electric or electro-vacuum valve from (cars to look for in the
scrappy, etc.)

Cheers,

Colin

Last time I did  this I used some black foam that was inside the box of my
computer's motherboard. Didn't smell funny with the heater on so should be
good.

Thanks for the reply. Yep I'm probably being far too picky on the
foam. I must have something laying around that I can use.

I got a nice result on the electric water valve today too. I relieved
a P reg Fiesta of this at the scrappy :o)

Just the job!

Cheers,

Regarding the electric heater valve,,,,,,
I have a feeling you have started something ,,,,
"is there going to be a rush for Fiesta heater control valves"
I wonder, ???
you should have made up some kit's and sold them on Ebay,
;-)
regarding the foam filler for the heater,
last time I did this kind of job , I used draught excluder foam, from B&Q,
with the adhesive on one side, this worked a treat,
