Hi
I have a leaky heater on my Mini.

Managed to get hold of another one and this one seams to leak in the same
place. There's a two part piece of plastic joined to the matrix and this
seems to be the area that it is leaking from.

Does anyone have a fix for this leak?

I should imagine that silicone won't be up to the task Is there anything
else I can put in there to seal these two parts up that would take the heat?

Cheers

Do you mean it is leaking at the side where the plastic pipes emerge?

If so these can be removed (at least on the one I had leaking) there were 4
or 5 small hex eaded screws. You should find an O ring that can be replaced.

Yep that's the place.

Where would I get a replacement O ring

Cheers

Try a hydraulic repair specialist in yellow pages. There is a BS for O rings
that covers almost every size imaginable and they are used a lot on
hydraulics.

And Elvis was sitting next to Christopher Seaman in the spaceship, which
I thought was kinda weird, but then they turned to me and said:

Plumber's merchants usually stock O rings in thousands of different
sizes.

Right, I had just this problem and actually picked up an o-ring assortment
pack for a few dollars.  This gave me a couple o-rings that worked perfectly
and fixed the leak.

My local B&Q store had an assortment pack
