Hi I am a South African Mini Fan, new to this NG.

I am busy rebuilding my Mini's engine, a 1275 bored 40thou oversize
bringing it to just over 1300cc. I am also going to fit a 286
camshaft, gasflowed 1275 cylinder head with stock valves and a lightened
crank with a stock 998 flywheel.I am planning on running either a 1
3/4" SU or a 36 WEBER downdraft. Also I'll be fitting a LCB and
freeflow exhaust.
What I would like to know is: how much power (HP) could I expect at
the wheels with these mods.

Thanks

You should expect in the region of 100bhp at flywheel and around 85ish at
the wheels.

Stay with the SU as you won't need to modify the bulkhead to fit it as you
would with the weber also you won't get much in the way of power benifit
from the webber as with the SU coz all you need do is change the needle and
play around with different sizes (5minute job)
