Hi all,
Anyone else see Watchdog last night on BBC1? There was a feature about
a lass with a shiny new BINI, which decided to incinerate itself only a
few minutes after her and a friend had got out of it!
OK, so my MINI (before it's recent accident-see seperate post!)
occasionally fails to start, or piddles oil on the drive, or complains
if it gets to wet, but I don't recall it ever threatening to explode!

Yes and they had a load of e-mails of unhappy Bini owners, snigger, snigger.

Mine has been on fire three times. Fortunately, it was put out before any
real damage occurred every time. That probably averages a fire every 10
years. I've had my Min a long time.
A friend has his on fire when the exhaust shorted to the starter switch
(early type with the push switch by the handbrake). Again the problem was
sorted before any damage happened. A battery master switch is always a good
idea.

"Ian Palmer decided to buy his daughter, Roxanne, a second hand 2002 BMW
Mini Cooper for her 17th birthday."
Flash git. At 17 I had to buy my own rot box that was older than I was!!
