My car has the standard rover alarm (fitted on rover 200s/400s etc and
late minis) i was wanting to wire the hazards to flash once/twice for
alarm set/un set.  is there any way of doing this easily.  The alarm
does already flash indicators when it is set off, so surely this isnt
such a big job.  anyone any ideas or info?
cheers

Ryan,

Maybe I've missed the point in your post but my mini has a standard rover
alarm and the indicators/hazards flash 3 times when it sets and once when it
disarms.

Both of the Rover minis I've had did the same thing so I always assumed it
was a standard set up.

Are you saying that yours doesn't flash at all or that you want to change
the number of times it flashes?

Cheers

Thats interesting, mine doesnt flash at all and wanted to know if it was
possible to do as you say.  is yours a very late rover mini, ie like
2000/2002 as mine is only a 1998 and wondering if rover slightly changed the
wiring
cheers

Ryan,

My current car is a 1999 Cooper S,  previous one was a 1994 Cooper, both
with standard electrics.

I'm pretty sure that the indicators should flash when the alarm is set /
disabled.  Strange enough, I can't find any reference to it in the owners
handbook though.

I doubt you'll be able to find a Rover dealer kicking about who is likely to
be much help with getting info on something like this. Your best bet would
be to a decent Mini specialist.

There are a few about in the North but personally I use Minimaster in
Penrith.  They have helped me out with quite a lot of work and are a very
friendly bunch.   No, I'm not on commission, but was very greatful when a
previously 'unfixable' engine management fault (so the dealer thought) was
resolved in a couple of hours with some good old fashioned mechanic
diagnosis......

I'm sod all use with electrics once it gets past the 'check the battery,
check the earth, check the fuse stage'.......

Cheers

I have never owned one as late as yours so cant give you any advice, but the
newer the mini the more complex they get!

Steve.
