Well chaps,
Fitzy and a few of his mates from up oup norff are off to
Italy this week, visiting all of the film locations there.
Just think, driving in the Alps on the Grand St Bernard Pass listening to
Matt Munro singing "On Days Like These"..........I can't think of anything
better you can do in a Mini  with your trousers on....
Steve.
P.S.  taking booking for next year already.

Hi,
While you are out there, why not try the Stevio Pass. It's awsome. Rises to
11000 feet with scores of tight hairpins, tourist shops at the top and then
descends on the other side to Italy and Switzerland.

I have some pics taken on the Stelvio when I went up there in my Woody. If
anyone wants pics, just e-mail me.

The only problem is that the version of "On days like these" sung in the
films is not available in the shops, and you have to settle for not a bad
version sung later.  No doubt you'll cope.  The benefit of the film
version (if copied for personal use) is that you get the ferrari (or fast
car) gear changes aswell!

Who sung that later was it Matt Munro  or did he sing that for the film?

It is Matt Munro in the film and the car is a Lamborghini Miura - the
iconic supercar of the '70s - not a Ferrari.

Hey there, yes Matt Munro did sing it later - it's not bad at all, in fact
I used to quite like it, but it's more studioish a few years later.  The
original has more style.  You might be able to find it, they're always
bringing out new recordings.  He still sells a very high number of CD's!!!

So the Italian job sound track has the wrong version on it?

Ah, sounds as though someone has actually been able to find the orignal -
apologies if this is so.  I was only comparing it to a Matt Munro
compilation that I have.  Sorry for the confusion!

Anyway thanks for the knowledge of the car, and have a good trip!
