Could anyone help in suggesting a reason for tyre wear on my car?
It has just 6500 on the clock and the drivers side front tyre has worn out
on the outside tread....
The other front is still as new as are the the rears...
I have checked the AA bible and it says that it could be due to wheel
alignment (NO) or underinflated tyre?
Any ideas?

I guess 'drivers side' cause that's where you're sitting? ( i.e the car is
often carrying only you?

And the wear... too much positive camber? - Mini's have alot as it is, so I
guess not unexpected, I know my tyres wear like this.

I would have thought the rad side tyre would wear more, being that it's
always alot hotter/softer because of where the radiator is.

But yeh, I guess it points to misalignment of tyres/suspension geometry??

(a rather vague) splam.

I had thought it maybe due to me being on the pass side on my own mainly,
the route I take to work and back often means me driving in a big circle,
often only taking left turns/corners. My car is a late model with the rad up
front.

over or under infalition effects both sides of the tyre, not just one
allso tracking or front wheel allignment effects both front wheels tyres not
just one
there fore it points a hub joint being worn, most likely to be top, but
could be lower get them both check, if not at fault the only other thing
that impacts on the way the wheel is sett, would be the lower track controll
arm or the top arm
it is a good idea to check the rear wheel alignment as going down the road
like a crab can have the same effect
good luck
