Mr. Osifeso (Ositech/Bad Apple) has publicly accused me of posting the
above message here as part of a slander and libel campaign aimed at
distracting from the fact that he is not man enough to meet me face to
face to iron out our ongoing dispute with each other.

It is also apparently an attempt to goad me into backing down in this
dispute, as he has threatened to go to people of my acquaintance and my
employer to spread the lies, partial truths, and out of context snippets
of communications that supposedly prove I hold racist beliefs.

See, the fact of the matter is I'm not inclined towards being
politically correct and do not shy away from having an opinion on any
matter, race relations included. Mr. Osifeso then has decided on
twisting the context of things I have said in the past, some of which
might very well be controversial, to prove his point.

Truth of the matter is then, with the exception of Mr. Osifesso, I have
had nothing but cordial relationships with members of the black
community with whom I have had personal relationships. This includes
co-workers, fellow Mini club members, and neighbours. The same holds
true with members of the Latino and any other ethnic communities I can
think of off the top of my head.

With the claim that I am also preducied against Asians (and in the US
that means people from Eastern Asia), I would like the reader to know
that I purposely chose to move into a community that is 95% Asian, with
a smattering of whites, latinos, and a black family thrown in for good
measure. Hardly something someone who doesn't like Asians would do,
don't you think? Again, nothing but cordial relationships throughout.
Well, except for some of the neighbours not liking me working on my
Minis in the driveway, but I digress.

Part of Mr. Osifeso's claim (IT genius that he claims to be) is that he
has logged my IP as being the originator of this message.

For the record, I am not the originator of this message and any IT guy
with a modicum of intelligence could easily find the IP address that
originated this message is 195.235.180.15, which resolves back to an
organization called "Consejo General de Medicos", which I guess is the
Council General of Medicine, in Spain.

Now (although it's on my list of places to visit) I have never been to
Spain and, even though I'm obviously a more accomplished IT guy than Mr.
Osifesso will ever be, I do not have the knowledge of hacking to be able
to get an IP address from a system half a world away.

I now ask Mr. Osifeso publicly to remove the accusations he outlines on
his web site (http://austinmini.ositech.net - see the Michael J. Walsh
blog link at the bottom of the main frame).

(Whoops! Context deleted automatically as the poster I am replying to
top-posted and used a sig. separator. Apologies.)

Nobody has any objections to anyobody modifying Minis. Modifying is
all part of the fun and lots of us do it, including myself. The
concern is over description and price when advertising. Obviously the
more non-original a car is the more careful you have to be when
describing it and the less it is worth. Is it a 'restoration' if you
use a non-original engine block? I think most people would agree that
it isn't.

This is not 'bullying', it is clarification. Nobody wants to see
potential purchasers being misled, even if it is accidental.

Hi Neal,

$8800 dollars!! that works out at less than £5000.... almost woth re
importing back to Blighty for conversion back to RHD!!

Who cares if it's got an A+ and other non original stuff.... all Mk1
Coopers are rare now and the 1275 makes it useable with modern
traffic.

Good luck with the sale.

Regards

Alan Thomas
