Recently bought a 1969 998 cooper engine and I want to install it on my 1991
mini. Will my 1991 distributor fit and work on the 998 cooper engine? I
fitted an electronic ignition kit to this distributor and I don't really
want to go back to the contact breaker points.

If its a 23d4,25d4,43d4 or a 45d4 it will fit.
The advance curve may (will!) be completely wrong though.

If it's an electronic dizzy 5*d4, I think the dog is a little different,
but can be made to fit with some 4*D4 parts.

Good info there,
thought about it myself, but struggled finding an electronic dizzy!

I am fairly sure later 45D dizzy's were used on A+ engines which used the
different drive. All 59D's and electronic dizzy's used the later drive. They
are not interchangeable with the earlier type.

The body on the later ones is different too (the mounting changed). So
changing a few earlier parts is not enough really.

And Dantiri was sitting next to Elvis in the spaceship, which I thought
was kinda strange, but then they turned to me and said:

Probably not. The 1991 model is almost certainly an A+ engine, and the
distributor mounting is totally different.
