Leaking sunroof

Hi folks

I have a '96 Mini (originally Spirte) with what I assume is a factory
sunroof. It's one that tilts up and with rubber type surround/seal.

Anyway, after the cold weather and heavy snow we'll hjad down here in
Cornwall the seal has given up and I sat in it this morning to find the
driver's seat and dash soaking! Not Funny!

Has anyone got any good tips or advice reagrding re-waterproofing the seal
and future care - never had a leaky sunroof before so have never thought
about it until now!

Any advice gratefully received - thanks in advance.

Clive

P.S. I had to laugh when it did snow. I have a Rover 45 as well, which we
attempted to go and pick the kids up from school as the bus had broken down.
There's a huge hill in front of our house and could the Rover make it up?
The hell it could, slid all over the place! I had nearly given up when I
tried the Mini and bless her - she made it to the top without a hiccup!
Definately very grateful for that little car!

The only factory fitted sunroof came with the 1990 Rover Mini Cooper RSP,
then the 1992 Mini British Open Classic got a full length sliding fabric
sunroof.

Looks like yours is an after market mod, so get a specialist to look at it.
