I'm not sure that the info on that page applies to post 1996, but I
haven't yet found any other source that gives a -ve factory setting. I
didn't think my Cooper (13" wheels Sports Pack) had been modded, but
by eye the camber looks -ve. Mm...

I think that the camber looks negative because of the shape of the wheel
arches. It might well be an optical illusion. The first time I looked at my
mini before buying it I got the same impression. factory built negative
camber on a road car is very unlikely.

The later cars had horrific suspension geometry from the factory, I doubt
any two cars would be the same!

How true! I bought a new 98/99 non-sportspack car, and within two weeks it
had chewed up its front tires due to toe-out & camber. Fixed that, when fall
came my brand new 12" Yokos were done at the rear too. Next spring I
converted the car to 10" wheels. It certainly needed some work! It looked
rather funky on the 10s, all the wheels pointing every which way.
About 3mm spacing of toe out needed at the rear, camber brackets to change
from 2-2,5 deg positive to about 0.5 positive, front camber bottom arms
adjusted to 0.5 deg negative. Now the front rubbers are dead and need
replacing too (about 2cm of suspension travel at the front before the bump
stops; less than my mountain bike!)
