*** 1984 AUSTIN MINI 1000 CITY E BLUE. VERY TIDY!!! ***

Very recent barn find, spent last couple of years or so in dry storage.
Complete car in original and untampered with condition.
Basic City E spec, single gauge dash, drum brakes.

GOOD BITS
Upper body in very good condition, original paint (BL Dark Blue), very
minor dents and marks, some surface rust repairs made. Interior in ok
condition, original leather/Vinyl seats seem good and protected by
cloth covers. switch gear seems ok, carpet original and in place,
slight wear. Original Sills in very good condition, small patch repairs
remain rust free and solid, rear inner sill wells are rust free, floors
are rust free. rear subframe solid, has been repaired and remains in
good condition. Low Mileage, appears genuine.
Tried to start engine, battery dead, but engine turns free, gears all
there, will attempt to get engine running prior to collection and drive
to test and check. New Spark plugs fitted!
Good tyres all round, with spare.
Brakes are free and operational.
Clutch pedal free and operational.

BAD BITS
Paint bubbling below headlights, front black bumper has hole in it,
drivers door bottom has holes but very solid frame, small part of
drivers side inner sill has hole, easily repaired. Boot floor on
drivers side has hole, typical area, easy repair.

SUMMARY
Basically a very solid and original car, would take just a few weeks
and small amount of cash to get to MOT standard. Suitable for spares
but would be a shame to break.
Some history included, old TAX discs and current LOG book also
included.

Nice looking little car, I once had an 85 Mini City E in that colour and
it's called Eclipse Blue if I remember correctly, mind you I got mine all
sprayed up to look like a Cooper!  Oh and the seats are definitely not
leather, they never came with leather seats, not on a City, they're just
vinyl seats with sawtooth type cloth inserts.

Wasnt sure, was just a quick look last night in the half dark after I got it
home.
Put a good battery on it and cleaned up solenoid connection this afternoon,
started after some adjustment, runs very well, good solid engine, and no
smoke either!

Well I hope it finds a good home as it's too good to strip etc, but as it's
a City it's really a sort of blank canvas and like I said, I gave mine a
Cooper makeover when I had that City, but you can do lots more to it really,
or keep it standard and pure too?

I think if i was going to keep it it would be great to convert into a mk1
lookalike, with the single gauge dash and drum brakes, but the flexibility
of a late 998 engine as used in a metro, still good for modern driving even
in basic form, would look good in old english white with a black roof.
