It makes me laugh that he is obviosly maxing out in top so much, he desperately needs a longer FD ratio. He's got big enough balls though.

"No matter which model of Mini you own,Whether it is a classic Mini or a new MINI. You will find the British Mini Club to be a quality driven club, both very friendly and helpful at all times. Established in 1992, with many thousands of members the BMC has become one of the most respected car clubs in the UK. We offer membership to Mini owners and enthusiasts all over the World. Make sure you become a member very soon and start enjoying the many benefits of our club. We welcome members from around the world and you do not need to own a Mini become a member of this leading Mini Club"
Shame the few remaining bigots and knockers can't learn from this example.

Fitzy - 04 Jun 2006 20:03 GMT Doesn't matter how many examples you copy and paste Brownzi'e , there is a definite difference between a BINI and a mini, there is just no comparison, I do understand when you try to convert and smooth things out here, but unless you are a real mini fan you wouldn't understand, (not you personally) I appreciate there are people in this group who own both mini and BINI, that's ok, because they are here for the mini, I own 2 minis and a Peugeot diesel, I don't ask questions about my Peugeot here, (although there are people here capable of answering my Peugeot questions), I go to the correct group for that particular vehicle, BINI owners should do the same, all animosity should subside if that day ever comes, regarding the BMC statement, the club is "in my opinion" OK, but lets face it Its a business, and businesses are designed to generate a profit, even if it means inviting people to become members, when they don't own a mini, I fail to see the point of that,?other than to make money, I have not renewed my membership to the BMC this year due to the fact there are to many BINIs in the monthly mag and also at the shows, I have written to Dave Hollis (midlands) and explained my reasons, I would prefer it if they had separate show days, When I buy a ticket to a BMC showday, I want to see minis, I don't want to see BINIS, If that makes me a bigot or a knocker, then OK, Fitzy

Yes you are a bigot and a knocker. Grow up idiot!
Taffy - 05 Jun 2006 15:07 GMT So why are you still posting here Brownz if you consider us all biggots? I mean we got rid of one Troll and now we have another.
Like I pointed out to you a while back, the real original Mini and the BINI are 2 very different cars, so there's no reason why there shouldn't be different clubs and newsgroups etc to cater for them.
Just because some people don't like the BINI doesn't mean their biggots, no they just have a preference and a passion for the genuine article and prefer to see the BINI as another car on the road to ignore and just nothing more than traffic as the real Mini was and always will be something special.
So go on, flame if you want as we don't give a monkeys to be honest and I wouldn't join the BMC if they payed me, but that's my preference.

Taffy - 06 Jun 2006 18:08 GMT Yeah and I'm a major Doctor Who fan too, who loves seeing the Doctor overcome evil like the amazingly nasty Daleks and the equally evil Cybermen!
But sorry mate I don't consider myself as a terrorist, racist, or a Dalek with allusions of taking over the universe or whatever. No, I like many who contribute here are real Mini Enthusiasts who have no interest in the BINI or BMW.
I mean we didn't all go crazy for the MiniMetro, or Metro then Rover 100 as it became, so just why should we be considered bad for only having a passion for the real thing?
Anyway I'm completely peeed off with this discussion and having to justify my enthusiasm for the Mini, so can we drop it now?
Taffy
TurboJo - 06 Jun 2006 18:53 GMT Come on! The original Metros were great as donors for Minis. Especially the MG variants so don't class them with the BINI
We have 2 original Minis and a BINI (wifes choice) but I do not class it as a Mini. The Metros were much closer to the real thing. We have had 4 in the past the most fun was the Turbo until it got nicked and written off.
> Yeah and I'm a major Doctor Who fan too, who loves seeing the Doctor > overcome evil like the amazingly nasty Daleks and the equally evil [quoted text clipped - 13 lines] > > Taffy Taffy - 06 Jun 2006 23:18 GMT Well no i'm not classing them with the BINI, but they were not Mini's either even though back in 1980 they were originally meant to be it's replacement. Well thankfully that never happened, but Rover still did the stupid thing of slashing the model range and cutting down on production numbers and not promoting the fact the Mini was still being produced.
Okay the Mini never made them any money and the Metro made loads as it was built by robots, but they were still stupid to axe the Mini Van and Mini Pick-Up commercial vehicles in 1982/83 as my father had a Van for work with the South Wales Electricity Board and they'd get a new fleet of Mini Vans every year!
Anyway it's rumoured Rover killed that off as it was taking too many sales away from the Metro, but they were slowly killing the Mini off in the 1980's all the same, until a new chairman made a few changes and raised it's profile etc.
But yeah I always hated the bloody Metro as I loved the Mini from as far back as I could remember really.

Taffy - 07 Jun 2006 13:56 GMT Thanks Brownz I'll try that, but Fitzy if your using Outlook Express, what newsgroup server are you using?
Taffy
Taffy - 07 Jun 2006 14:18 GMT Right tried sighing up for the German Server, but they charge for the obligation of using their service, so I didn't bother as I'm paying enough for broadband here as it is.
I think I might e-mail those cheap56k people though and find out what's taking them so long to fix the bloody problem?

So I guess I really need to be registered with BT to use that service and I'm with Wanadoo and they stopped doing newsgroups a while back as their useless and that free service one i'm with now for newsgroups called "news.cheap56k.com" hasn't worked for weeks!
Oh well at least I can reach you all via Google groups anyway I suppose.
