Whilst looking for the light hum coming from the NSF I decided to strip the
wheelbearing...only to find the outer spinning merrily inside the hub
(15thou feeler gauge will fit between the hub & outer bearing) so I am
looking for a hub for a '90 mini Neon with disc brakes. (or an oversized
bearing!) Can anyone out there help?

Your local motor factor should still stock these the Quinton Hazel part
number is QWB159C (QH catalogues on line at

If not http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=3297
or even ebay watch though as one of them has a starting price more than
Mini Spares

Are these a larger diameter than the standard bearing? I don't understand.

you'll need a replacement hub (from any disc-brake mini will do) .. go
to your local shop/dealer/breakers yard.

good luck,

What's wrong with Moss?  I've always found them okay in the past.

Awful, parts out of stock, no idea when they will be in, don't send them to
you when they do eventually get them in. You have to chase, chase, chase.
Part orders is shipped with no note to say why the missing stuff is missing.

Mini Sport on the other hand are excellent.  The box with your order is even
packed with the information in layers and at the bottom of the box is a note
saying "Thanks for your order"

I won't be using Moss ever again

Well i've not had any problems with Moss myself YET?  But I did order a
shiny new grille from Mini Sport for my Mini a few Christmases ago and
it arrived all dented and twisted as it hadn't been packaged properly.

Well okay I did get a replacement, after i'd returned the knackered one
first and so the replacement didn't then arrive for weeks and it was
meant to be a Christmas present!

Oh well mistakes happen I guess?

Actually you can clean the hub ( loctite cleaner) and refit the bearing
cup with Bearing Retaining grade Loctite this works not sure over how
long but will suffice over a short period at least.

This keeps the mini on the road till you get the new hub at least..
