Want to replace the standard seat for something more comfortable &
supportive, would like to go for something that tilts & slides to make it
easier for people to get into the back.  Any suggestions?

Seats from a late model scrapped mini will fit right in without the need for
a seat subframe at extra cost.....

Metro seats generally need a special subframe to allow them to be
bolted to the Mini's cross-member.

The Metro seat rails look very similar to my Rover coupé items your
mounting method is quite neat.

Thanks for the info, now I am hunting a pair of Metro seats so I can have a
look see...there may be a pair at a bodyshop down the road...I'll keep you

Late model Mini seats are based on metro designs but have the Mini base so
can be fitted to any Mini, they can be sourced at most mini specialists
second hand and are cheaper than new sports buckets plus subframes....

Well i've seen lots of nice later model Mini reclining seats on E-Bay,
just click in "Mini Seats" under "Car Parts & Vehicles" and away you
go.

I'm after some good replacements for my Mini, but the only trouble is
you generally have to collect the items as their too big and heavy to
send via standard post.

I'm using half leather seats from a Rover Coupe. I made up some
mountings for the front to bolt the runners to the Mini mounts and
welded some feet on at the rear that bolt through the floor.

So whenever you have a thought, you laugh. Sounds to me like you are
retarded.

Managed to get hold of a pair of 'sports ka' black leather seats, tilt,
slide, raise & lower, heated etc etc, subframes were easy to fabricate &
they fit a treat.  I would recommend.
Pictures available on request.
