richmollie - 11 Oct 2006 20:59 GMT I took my 1992 mini city out 4 a drive 2day and she started up fine first time, drove 4 about 30min and then parked up. Got back in the car and it wudnt start, the starter motor was working but the engine wudnt fire up, i checked the starter leads and they seemed ok, i had a friend with me so we decided to try and jump, but no joy. After trying to start for about five minutes she suddenly started and a big black smoke came out the exhaust, with a few bangs. Fine i thought and put it down to a fuel block, the car seemed fine until i came to some traffic lights and the revs started to fall and i managed to catch it before it stalled, however at the next stop i didnt and the car stalled-just as before the engine wudnt fire, we moved the car to the side of the road and came back to it about 20mins later, its started first time and the revs were dropping a bit but not as bad as before! Im thinking that it cud been a spark plug or timing problems! Any advice wud be helpfull!!!!!!!

Try putting some fresh engine oil in the carb dashpot for starters perhaps?
And when were the electrics last changed? It might be time to renew the Dizzy Cap, Rotor Arm, HT Leads, (points & condensor if it has them too, but by then I think all models were electronic?) and Spark Plugs (NGK are superb I find!).
Plus when did it get a full service? Mini's like fresh engine oil and clean air filters too and how about the valve clearances (tappets), when were they last adjusted?
Well there's a few things to go on, but it could just need a good crypton tune anyway.

Taffy - 12 Oct 2006 15:50 GMT Taffy's Bread Pudding This is one of my favorite comfort foods, and the only kind of Limey pudding I love. It's delicious as an autumn or winter snack... and on cold mornings, it's my boyfriends favorite breakfast. * half stick of butter or margarine (I like Land O Lakes Sweet Cream Cum Spread) * 2 cups milk * 3 eggs * 1/2 cup sugar * 1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg * 2 bread slices * 4 extra long blood sausages * 1 cup really fatty meat
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, blend everything together. Tear off cloths and rub hot oil all over boyfriend’s chest. Blend well. Add bread mixture to scalded milk. Stir. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden-crusted. Let sit 5 minutes before having wild man sex with a totally hairy stranger.

I suppose we could mail them both.
If you use google groups you can also use the show options link there is a report abuse option.
You can easily spot his forged posts by looking at the headers.

Remember that Trolls also like to crosspost a number of groups to wind up the people in the various groups so they start a flame war between the groups, so remember not to cross post back, that's what they want. It looks like we have been joined by one of Mad Max's mates who is cross posting irrelivant drivel to these groups rec.ponds, alt.usenet.kooks, alt.religion.jehovahs-witn, alt.autos.mini, misc.health.alternative

Turbo Jo - 12 Oct 2006 21:26 GMT > Just to inform u taffy when i say new mini, i dont mean a bwm,i mean new to > me. i got a 1993 italian job classic! U shouldnt Assume the worst!!! Yes I would try the points ensure they can close nup very quickly some of the ones available nowadays seam to wers dow the plastic cam leaver very quickly. Set the gap and lubricate the shaft with a very thin light smear of grease.
Cheers

I find a few bob spent on a dwell meter to be worthwhile. You can check the gap by simply clipping the meter to the coil and earth. New points do tend to wear closed as Turbo Jo says. I set them on the larger end of the gap range, say 2 degrees of dwell less than the spec.

Its the point gap set correctly is all that matters. Hi All, Dwell = gap........ its just another way of setting the points gap, The wider the angle = the narrower the gap The narrower the angle = the wider the gap, so when setting the Dwell angle, remove spark plugs, (not necessary, but helps spin the engine faster)..... connect Dwell meter, put screwdriver in the adjuster slot in points, crank engine, set Dwell to the lower end of scale, (ie) a mini is 57 + or minus 3 , set to 54, this is the widest gap setting, and as we all know, points always close when the heel wears down, so should still be within the initial dwell spec, HTH Fitzy

And when were the electrics last changed? It might be time to renew the Dizzy Cap, as these little cars are old and falling apart.
Plus when did you get a full service (including a blow job)? Mini's like fresh engine oil and clean condoms.
Well there's a few things to go on, but it could just need a good cryptonite tune anyway. And get the hell out of this newsgroup, a.s hole!
