i want 1100 for them. They are in good condition and are on a car at the
moment.
Cheers
Aaron
S*** I didn't want to buy the whole car. So the set I picked up for $130
must have been a good buy. These are selling for, normally, $500. And
my thinking that I could spend $200 on yours making them in "good condition"
LOL

if you can get em for 130 then go and buy em.
Fact is this is what a set of cooper s disk brakes are worth in sydney, if
ya dont want then dont buy no fuss on my behalf.

Well used Cooper S disks were selling for around Au$600 a set in 1990
when I bought my first set. I sold them, even more used, in 1996 for
$600.

included a booster the flat sided one for the mini.

O' BTW the main bits are the uprights, hubs, calipers and dust covers.
the rest will need replacement. ie CV's, rotors, pistons,Pads, seals, ball
joints, bearings. Parts that old aint new and mint not even at $1100.00
( the $100 must be the GST component which they are liable to pay or
withheld. LOL)
Think someone did have sets at $2000 new Mini King or Karcraft?????
Seen at a swap meet some new uprights recently cheap so thats a starting
point.

Well have a look at this then and do the conversion. Like I said a local
dealer will have the same stuff.
http://www.minispares.com/InvDetail.cfm?Item=C%2DAJJ4028
Makes the $1100 look expensive! and spending at least $200 in parts on
yours to make them serviceable and safe. (I for one would not just bolt
them on as is.)
bluzu - 08 Sep 2003 04:06 GMT
As i said if you dont want them dont buy em

I advertise cooper s disc brakes for $1200 and i have people falling over
each other too buy them. So its generally the price in Sydney, they are
$1900 2nd hand at most mini spares places in Sydney.

Well it would be well worth looking at these from Mini spares UK for 445
pounds - completely new set.

Thats about Au$1000.
Plus freight.
Plus import duties and GST.
Plus the wait and the hassles if they send you wrong parts or bad parts,
and that does happen, take it from me.
If it were possible to buy a single complete new set from a UK retailer
and land them in Australia for under about $1500 then you can be quite
certain that the local Mini specialists would be sourcing them wholesale
in the UK and importing in containers with the other stuff they buy, far
cheaper than postage, and they would be selling them here at a tidy
profit for something like Au$2k.
So - are they?
When someone offers something for sale for more than you think it is
worth, you can always walk away. Doubtless other Aussies in the group
will be interested to hear what your 445 pound brakes actually cost,
landed in Australia.
But equally, if someone doesn't like your offer, they can always say no
and wait for someone else to come along. They're under no obligation to
drop their price for you just because you think it's unreasonable.
The Muffin Man - 08 Sep 2003 17:12 GMT
That is approximately 1500 - 1600 Australian$ plus postage.
It makes 1100 US$ look expensive.

I am only going to say this once more.
ops you obvlously think that you can get them from somewhere else for less,
why bother us with your insesant banter. go get them from elsewhere, the
ones i have are for sale at $1100, which is less than what you would pay for
a set of disks from a dealer, less than what you would pay from a guy off
the street and less than what you would pay for a set of disks from the UK,
shipped, which by the way will be a set of 8.5's which wont fit under 10
inch wheels. So go buy your brakes and leave us all be. everyone else on
here knows how much there worth.
