chris_culley@yahoo.com - 26 Oct 2006 11:56 GMT Hi,
Always loved them, so I've been looking to do a piece of university work on the supply / demand figures of the mini :) I've got the production numbers from the excellant http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/ but I was after the prices of them as well...
My question was, does anyone know where I'd be able to get hold of some information about the original cost of the minis, ie in the year that they were made? ideally from 1959 - 2000 (the complete run), but any subset of that would be great...
I'd be really grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction!
Cheers,
Chris

chris_culley@yahoo.com - 26 Oct 2006 15:16 GMT hehe - I've just noticed that those are dutch prices :) guess my study might be along the lines of "mini demand in Holland" :)

(It's all in DFL and not Euro's, so theoretically you would only need the exchange rate of each year to convert to GBP)
the first line in the graph: http://drcwww.uvt.nl/~bogaard/tijdl.htm gives some sales figures for Holland.

No...dick head...I fully comprehend the question. Again...why are you saying it was imported from the UK, to the UK? Sounds like the government is giving you a f.ck job.

Pot Kettle Black No...I'm black. Don't you know how to read previous posts? You would then see what was snipped, prices from UK to UK.
Chucky - 03 Nov 2006 01:12 GMT Some gutless fuckwit desperately cowering behind madmax <madmaxx@nvbell.net> desperately attempted to bullshit its way out of its predicament after getting done like a f.cking dinner, as always, and fooled absolutely no one at all, as always.

Maybe it stayed the >same value. apart from VAT (BTW in Dutch) we have BPM - extra tax on cars because they are considered 'luxury goods' .. can't remember when that was first introduced .. VAT rates may have changed over the years of production of the Mini of course ..

David Toft - 26 Oct 2006 18:04 GMT >Hi, > [quoted text clipped - 14 lines] > >Chris One of the selling points of the original Mini was that it should be under £500, so the first ones were £497 including purchase tax. A heater and carpets were extra, rubber mats were standard (just as well because they leaked like sieves). The first vans were £340 (no purchase tax) I think, passenger seat extra. You need to adjust the prices to take account of inflation. This site http://www.wolfbane.com/rpi.htm has the (amazing) figures

Taffy - 26 Oct 2006 20:10 GMT Try contacting the Heritage Motor Centre because their sure to have records there, but I'm sure the prices and other information has been published in lots of Mini Books over the years too.

chris_culley@yahoo.com - 27 Oct 2006 08:47 GMT Thanks for all your help guys - I'll have a dig at the heritage motor centre to try to get the equivalent prices because, like you say David, I need to adjust for inflation and it's proving incredibly difficult to find the dutch inflation rates (at least on the internet...)!
Cheers!
