Hi,

what where the differences on the late classic Mini models between the
Cooper and the regular Mini?

I just know the difference in horsepower.

There is no difference in horsepower, other than on the Cooper Garages
modded cars. All the differences are in trim. Most obvious are the
Cooper stripes and white roof. All the trim options were available as
options on the non Cooper-badged cars anyway.

I see, the "regular" Minis of the 90ies here (Austria and Germany) have
53HP and the Coopers are registered with 63HP, strange.

Anyway, thanks for the Info.

IIRC the single points had a differnt engine spec for coopers and normal
models, but all the twin points were the same. I remember reading it in
the advertising blurb that Rover sent me when they introduced the
twin-point FI.

But my memory could be playing tricks with me, which would not be
unusuall ;-)

Ah, seems to be the solution, I never read about different HP´s for the
twin-point efi´s.

Sorry. I was assuming that by 'late' model you meant the mpi cars.

My sons got a cooper lookalike, all the bits and all the noise, speed and
some! I love it - keeps hiding his keys...he used to have a crappy fiesta,
got stopped 37 times in a year, never been stopped in the mini...work that
one out!
