Mk II same as Mk III step sills? I'm doubting it.

Ey up,

are the step sills for the Mk II and the Mk III different sizes?

I have some Mk III sills for restoring my Mk II - bloke says "they should
fit".

Do I need to bend them over his head? :P

Thanks!
Chris

The step sill maybe differant, this takes into account the external type
hinged door on the mk2 and the internal on the mk3. The doors are slightly
differant hence the small changes in dimensions, for instance the front is
blended in with the A panel as aposed with disappearing behind the A panel
on the mk3

Thanks Jono.  Think I may need to bend the sills over the seller's head.
Then again, if I did that I wouldn't get a refund or exchange...

It depends what type of repair panel you have. If you just have the plain
step that doesn't curve up at each end, you can use it on a Mk2. If it
curves up, then they are different.
The length of the door aperture is different but the curved shape at the
rear is the same. The front has a different shape.
If you choose to bend the sills over the seller's head...... tell Martin
that Steve says to get his act together and sell you the right parts!
