Hey everyone,

Just a quick question...
Apart from the Metro's, what other seats have you lot had in your minis?  My
'86 Mayfair (Norris) has the rather uncomfy centre headrest posts, and I'm
just thinking of alternatives, without going for trad "bucket" style race
seats.

Any ideas/comments?

One of our customers used Fiesta seats, but they were a bit wide and left
little room to get to the hand brake. Early Renault 5 seats were quite
narrow, I wonder if they might be worth a look?

Ultimately, you will have to spend time wandering around a breakers yard
with a tape measure! Check the mounting method of the seats. Most modern
items are very specific to the car and would be difficult to adapt to a
Mini.

In the newest Mini World, there is a lad who put Daihatsu Charade seats in
his mini ("surprisingly easy to fit"), but he also reworked most of his
mini, so the difference between his and our "easy" might be significant

Not my car, but something I noticed earlier this evening:

Honda CRX bucket seats, about 60% of the way down the page.

Heaps of Mini's with Honda Seats in NZ

In particular from Integra's, Preludes and CRX's ( sorta sportier looking )
also quite narrow and thing seats.

I saw a pair of seats from a 2002 integra for about $800 a a wreckers a
while back, not such a bad price given how much it is to import those
flashy ones from the UK.
