Good morning.

I came across
http://www.comp.glam.ac.uk/pages/staff/djcunlif/minis/minilinks.htm, which
is a great resource, but it seems to be all but out of commission: A backlog
of more than 200 links, and I estimate that more than 70% of the links are
out of order.

As a counter-effort, I decided to make something similar myself, gathering
links to built a similar collection, but with a slightly more high-tech
approach to the problem, meaning that it will take a lot less time to upkeep
than the system above.

http://www.kamps.org/mini/links/

Once the domain is fully registered (the order was placed yesterday) the
Link Repository will be moved to its own domain (it will also contain a
forum etc), but more info as that happens.

comments, questions, suggestions and (above all) additions of links are more
than welcome.

Sincerely,

HJ K

This URL has been around for a long time... and it's pretty good (though
out-of-date as you discovered).

Good luck with your own efforts in this regard. It's always nice to have a
center link of links.

HJ K,

You might want to talk to Daniel Cunliffe, who is the owner of the site
that you think is out of commission. There was a posting here (I think) not so long
ago from one of his students i think who had been detailed off to find a
way to easily update the original site. That site is legendary amongst us
oldies on alt.autos.mini and on the Mini Internet Mailing List.

Yeah, I emailed him before the weekend some time, I believe, but haven't
heard anything back yet. It doesn't really matter, if he decides to put his
site back on track, I'll consider pulling the plug on mine - the main point
is that the site is a bit useless at the moment: I did a random check of
about 30 links, and of them, I think more than 70% must have been down.
Which means, unless Cunliffe comes up with a link-checking algorithm or
system, it is probably quicker to start with no links, than to start with
hundreds of broken links.

Damnation that I didn't see that post - I've programmed lots of stuff like
that in the past. Hrmf. Oh well, I'll just post my site, and we'll see what
happens.
