Hi,

Just a quick question.... In the not too distant future, I'm looking to
replace the 998cc engine in my mini, with a 1275cc engine from a Metro. Is
there any difference between a later A+ series Austin Metro 1275 engine, and
an MG Metro 1275 engine? I imagine they're pretty much the same, but I
wasn't sure if the MG Metro had a slightly 'hotter' cam?

Basically the same engines, dont know about cams though.
Just swap over the engine mounts and you are just about there.
Get some decent disks though. If you want to fit the metro disk brakes
you'll need pre 1974 metro ball joints.

Dont use the metro hubs as it buggers the steering angles up....
There is an article on the IME (mentioned above) about such conversions...

TTFN,
Dave
