Howdy
i'm getting closer to the painting section of the rebuild and paint
choices have to be made.  i just want to finish with a black 1275GT,
wqhich is the original colour of the car.  The choice i have is to
ovespray the current black paint, which i'm presuming is two pack,
with more black two pack paint or with a cellulose based paint.   i
won't be painting myself therefore drying/ventilation is not a
problem.  whats the best paint or is there one.  I've heard that the
two pack is more resilient and can be cut to a good finish compared
with the cellulose and that cellulose is less forgiving to a poorly
prepped surface.  true/ untrue

any thoughts??

2K is the most hard wearing paint but requires some expensive kit to spray
it (air fed mask's and a filtered garage etc.)
It does/can look like a "plastic" finish however, so some people prefer
cellulose particulary on older models for that reason.
The "plasitc" finish is why it is more forgiving on poorly prepped surfaces.

That said, cellulose is also reasonably safe to be sprayed by your average
DIYer.
Modern cellulose paints are quite durable and fade resistant but two pack is
the one I would chose for a car that is used every day.
