Well just as well I asked then! (as if i would buy a car without checking
with everyone first)
I was tempted to get a newer car because of all the miles I put on mine and
didn't want to keep a car with too much mileage.. perhaps then I'd be better
just getting a new engine when I have used this one up ;-)

I'll stick with me nice shiney 95 cooper (as seen on www.taylorjames.net )

Looking at your mini I would stick with it, keep the 12" wheels too, maybee
uprate the tyres when the existing ones wear out to 165s, put 1/4" spacers
on the rear & fit an uprated set of shocks, if not allready done spend a
weekend completly rust proofing the car with waxoil, well worth it in the
long run,

Steve.

Yes all the tyres are now Yokahama 165-60-12 tyres on the back and same spec
of Dunlop sport on the front (which sadly they don't make anymore).

How do 1/4" spacers improve things, and do you need wider wheel arch trims
(eg sports ones) to allow for these?

Yes an uprated set of shocks definatly sounds like a plan, any to reccomend?

Yep the underside of my car is waxoiled.  The rear subframe has been
cleaned, silver hammerited, then waxoiled on top too.  I did the hammeriting
in addition because otherwise each time it gets jacked up the waxoil is worn
off until i get round to repairing it, thus the metal is exposed.. plus the
silver shows up clearer than old metal, if waxoil is missing!

cheers
