Can anyone suggest a substance to use to protect the floors of my mini.  I
have a fear of rust that won¹t go away.

Thanks!

How about paint - seems the best to me - smooth gloss paint so as to
seal the surface.

Anything that absorbs or holds moisture will eventually cause rust - Im
thinking in the way of the spray on tar types - don't use them. They
don't stick properly either and down the track deteriorate and peel away.

Protecting the floorsstrip the floors back to metal and treat with a Hammerite finish such as POR15, also top drill the sills and fill with somthing like Fisholine Oil (not sure if that spelt correctly), or Waxoil, or some other similar rust proofing agent.

I rebuilt my 1981 shell 9 years ago now, total dip strip and filled all the sills and internal roof lines with fisholine and it still is 100% perfect to the day depsite being used virtually everyday. Smelt (no pun intended) a bit fishy for the first few months but now its just perfect. After all fish live in the salty ocean 24/7 and have you ever seen a rusty fish LOL
