Hi again,

Just a quick update on what's going on with my Mini for restoration in
Ireland.

I've had it down to Mr. O'Leary in Cork and was pleasantly surprised that my
assessment was on the pessimistic side. It doesn't need as much work as I'd
feared ( though some little &!*# left me in need of a new wing last night).

While my original objective was to have it restored to as close as
possible to factory spec, Mr. O'Leary has persuaded me to convert to disc
brakes and a laminated windscreen for safer motoring.

Thanks for the help so far. Tony if I'm ever in your part of the world
remind me that I owe you a pint.

Joe.

A laminated windscreen is virtually indistinguishable from a toughened
one until the toughened windscreen is in small pieces in your lap.

Disk brakes are much nicer to live with, from the point of view of
maintenance alone, never mind that they also work much better...

Fair points both. I think I was just having a sort of sepia toned "Hovis"
phase. Now where's that Dvorak CD? :-)
