I can't remember the actual clearance, but I do remember that for the
motors that are set cold it is 3/8 of one thread pitch on the screw
adjusters. If you wind the adjuster down until it touches with no gap
and then back it off 3/8 turn it will be right.

The manual states 0.012", although you can open it to 0.015" without a
problem. The wider clearance is a good idea on performance engines because
of the extra heat generated. It allows for greater expansion of all the
components before the valves no longer seat.

Valve clearances are .012 inch. ( commonly called 12 thou)
