Hello all out in Mini Newsgroup land, new to the area, not new to Minis.

My question is this, I saw an early Mini, a '64 Cooper "S" at a local race,
it's a Canadian racer, VARAC legal, racing at this past year's Pittsburgh
Vintage Grand Prix. Don't get TOO excited if you attend the PVGP and expecet
to see a plethora of Minis racing in 2004, after inquiring as to it's
presence, as well as that of a Bugeye racer, we were told the two were
allowed to compete as a sort of testing the water, because of some fear of
others wanting to come which would be "too" competitive and too numerous,
the owner said it was thoroughly put through tech and cc'd despite it's
VARAC legality.

The cylinder head which he was racing had v-angled spark plugs. Now, I've
never seen a head like this in my 8 years of being a serious Mini entusiast,
though I seem to remember seeing something of the sort in the past, though
can't remember where.

What is it, where would one obtain it, and is it common and I've just not
see one before? Thanks for the help!

No chance of a picture? I am most interested in seeing this. My interest
seems to lie in the obscure and uncommon Mini items.

If you get a picture I can host for you.

Did it have 4 spark plugs, or 8??

Could have been an alloy 8-port head, or perhaps a custom build twin-spark
head.

No, only had 4 spark plugs. The lead ends of #'s 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 were angled
towards each other.
The owner was claiming 150+ hp, and I watched him with a timing light, car
was running like a champ at 9,000+ RPM....hmmm?
