or
Know of an alternative for a pickup that has the classic look and isn't

Hi Muffy
years ago I had a set of these clamp on mirrors, and they where readily
available in most stores, but they where crap,,,,,,,,,
two pinch bolts that damaged the paintwork,,, always coming loose,,, and
poor visibility,,
but if your determined to have some,
try your local Taxi spares outlet, they might have something in stock,
or can get it for you

We do them, but they are only available to fit the RH side. The
manufacturers (Taiwan!) don't make a bracket for the other side! The item on
eBay is exactly what is available today, not a period item.
There is another bracket style available, but it fits to the door window
channel rather than the body seam.

You might try Stafford Vehicle Components
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/
They list a similar product and a couple of alternatives.

So if I shouldn't get one of them, what should I get? What looks like it
belongs on a Mk1 door?
Cheers

when i was in the UK in 2001 they where avalaible from Sommerford Minis I
think from memory...saw them at Mini on the Park...and I bought so much
stuff I can remember who was who or had what. I do recall there was a blurb
in the Mini Magazine about them. They called the "overtaking mirrors" for
some reason
