Looking at my front tyres (currently Dunlop sports 165/60/12) i think soon i
will need new ones.  I corner pretty hard so it's my own fault, though I
have done 20k on them which i guess isn't bad.

Saw that Yokohama A048R (165/55/12) Tyre  are even lower profile (another 5%
lower which is 9mm), not sure if this is a good thing or not as I am pretty
close to the ground anyhow, though it means less tyre deflection on
cornering... The tred pattern is pretty wild though - are they road legal in
the UK?

If not then I'll put Yokohama 165-60-12 A539  on, which  is what I have on
the back and seem pretty good.  I am sure I paid more for them a year ago
than they are now.. perhaps I got ripped off, I thought I had paid 70 quid a
rim, though they are now 45 quid.. perhaps i am scaling the cost up in my
memory.. I'll have to check!

If you currently have Yoko's on the back and Dunlop's on the front, don't
you find you get chronic understeer? (Even more than usual on a Mini!)
Fitting Yoko's to the front will bring back some balance in the handling
again.

The 'R' suffix shows a soft compound tyre and will wear very quickly. I
believe the 048R is 'e' marked, so fine to use in the UK.
