this would seem to be a rather elementary problem, but i cannot for the life
of me figure out how to stop the rain from coming in.
i have taken the carpets out in an attempt to see exactly where its getting
in, but all that happens is i get two small puddles forming, one in each
footwell, when it rains. i have taped up all the vent-holes in the doors,
but to no effect. it seems to seep in around the door seals - but these are
new.
whats going on? is this a common problem?

any advice most welcome.
cheers

you can sprinkle some talc powder around where you think its from and
see if it leaves traces.

Did it leak before the door rubbers were replaced?
Does the front light (screen)  leak and that usually starts from the top
of the rubber.

Are your door seals genuine?  I bought a new set off Somerfield Mini Spares
and I'm getting a bit of water in from one side and no they aren't genuine
Rover items.  Mind you it's surprising how much water leaks in from the roof
guttering to the car when you simply open the door in heavy rain too.

And those check strap seals that are always forgotten!

looks like you might have hit upon something. anyone know where i can order
some from?

jason

There should be oval sponge seals around the check strap hole, glued to the
pillar. Because this is outside the main door seal it provides a leak path
into the front floor. Mini specialists will all be able to supply.
