Greasing radius arms...

Having only discovered last week that Minis have grease nipples on the
radius arms, I thought I had better shove some grease in.

I tried to do it this morning, and the only way I could have managed it
would be to use a grease gun with some sort of special end, or take the
arches off!

The car is a '98 Copper with Sports Pack arches, and they prevent you
getting a normal grease gun (tried three different ones, including one
with a flexible nozzle) on the nipple straight enough for the grease to
go in. Looking at the car from the side, the nipple is behind the front
edge of the arch - nothing like as exposed as in the picture in the
Haynes manual.

There must be an easy way round this stupid problem, but I can't see it...

The Haynes picture is of an early Mini that didn't have extra arches fitted.
You can replace the grease nipples with angled ones which makes the task a
lot easier.

Thanks. I had wondered if changing the nipples was the best solution. Do
you know what the thread is?

Roger.
