Oil pressure gauge

I have an older smiths mechanical oil pressure gauge which I would to
install in my 1986 mini.

I think that the outlet is on the block underneath the outlet from the
block to the oil filter, is this correct?

Also, does anyone know the sizes of the fittings to actual connect this?
I think that I read that they are 1/8" NPT(?).  Also, there looks like
there is a rubber plug (electrical sending unit?) there now.  Can this
just be removed and a union added on the block and one to the gauge
with, say a high pressure oil hose to make this work, or is there more
involved?

Anyway, thanks in advance... just wondering if this can be done easily.

rover does a kit to do this, a t-piece is supplied to split from the block,
to this electrical sender and to the plastic pipe, also supplied.  this pipe
then goes through the bulkhead and screws onto the gauge. the sender unit
you saw works the orange oil light on the dash.

the kit costs arround ?10.

That's right, it goes into the hole where the oil pressure switch goes to
the warning light on the dash.
To use both (warning light and pressure guage) which is highly advisable,
you will need a T-piece.
Phone minispares or moss up, tell them what you are doing - they both prob
do a kit.
