I'm looking for behind-the-scenes facts about the cars in both old and
new versions of The Italian Job. e.g. how many cars were used of each
model, what attrition rates (how many were pranged), what mods they
had, who drove them, etc. Anyone know a good site where I'll find
this sort of info?
(Sorry, I'm not an expert, and I know it's probably an FAQ job.)
Mucho appreciado any help!

Hollywood rendition in which they can't even seem to use the right cars to
re-make it with...

The original Italian Job had:
Alfa Romeo Giulias (police)
Austin Mini Cooper (getaway cars)
Austin Mini (new car lot)
Aston Martin DB5 Drop head (Lord Croker's)
Bedford Harrington Debonair coach (getaway transport)
Beliet Lorrys (car transporters)
Daimler Majestic (Iranian ambassador's)
Fiat 500 (tiny car in traffic jam scenes)
Fiat Dino Coupe (Mafia)
Ford Anglia (police car outside hotel)
Ford Thames 400E doormobile (gang's transport)
Jaguar E type convertible (gang's fast car)
Jaguar E type FHC (gang's fast car)
Land Rover (gang's heavy transport)
Trojan van? ("you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off)
16 Mini Coopers were used in filming, and all were wrecked.
In the 3-Mini jump scene, the Minis were going about 50 MPH
In the new Italian Job, BMW provided Paramount with 32 Minis for filming.
