I have a 1972 clubman estate, which is original with its 998cc, I have owned
it for 2 years and love the thing to bits,
harvest gold, pretend wood down the sides, brown interior, great. Firstly I
want rear seat belts, as the kids seem to slide about a lot (joke!!!!!!),
but secondly I want it to go well. I have owned for a short time alongside
my estate a mini saloon with
a turbo motor in it, it didn't last long as it was really badly put
together, but it really did go. What i want is super quick, but
nice and traditional, maybe even having my own engine worked on. Mini
magazine had a 998cc overbored and seriously played with, and that made
85bhp at the fly. Any ideas, or shall I pull my engine out and stuff
something else in? I don't want vauxhall or honda power, just something that
looks period with the car. I have some reverse rims to go on it and a set of
s disks, so I can stop and go around corners

Yes I'm sure I read in the magazines that there's a rear seat belt kit for
Mini Estates.  Check with a Mini specialist like Somerford, I'm sure they
sell securon seat belts that will do the job.

I put seatbelts in the rear of my estate.  I attached one belt on each
side to the post(sheet metal)that comes down between the seats.  The
other half went into the storage areas on either side of the street.
I feel very comfortable with the kids strapped in with thse lap belts.
