I am cleaning up a set of conetssa mags, my question is will paint stripper
react with the alloy, as i am trying to clean off the old paint so that they
can be recoated. Is this possible or what do you guys suggest to clean them
with? I will be repolishing the outer rim and that seems easy enough other
than being very boring and time consuimg. i guess i just don't want to pay
someone 100aussie dollars each to do it for me. any help would be
appreciated.

Cheers

Aaron

Hi,

I've tried the following on one of my Revolutions with polished rim.

1) Strip and paint or lacquer off with a strong paint stripper such as Nitro
Mors.
2) Repeat to ensure all paint is removed.
3) Clean with wire wool and then a detergent to ensure all paint stripper
removed.
4) Apply Solvol Autosol with very fine grit wet & dry sandpaper (1400 -
1700)
5) Clean with a soft cloth

It is very labour intensive and you might need to repeat some of these
steps, but the results are excellent.

Regards,

Don
