Hi there,
It appears that my MINI's heater unit is leaking, It is very bad in my
point of view since radiator fluid is dripping on the floor :(
Apart from replacing that mini radiator, I'm wonder if there's any
alternatives? The unit is quite big in my POV. So maybe a smaller heater
unit from some other may be an alternative? Suggestions please. How bad the
condition is on the whole unit I have no idea, since I have not taken that
section apart.

It only leaks when the car is running at normal condition. The car is not
overheating nor does it overheat while the heater unit valve is closed. So
it seems that it only leaks when the pressure increases, and my currently
solution from stopping it leaking it turning off the water path to the
radiator. But winter is coming -_-

Thanks,
   Yako^^

Hi,
It's well worth checking the condition of the hoses and tightness of the
hose clips where they connect to the heater. I have found in the past that
these areas leak more often than the heater matrix leaks.

My heater leaked too.

Take the whole thing out of the car and remove the heater matrix itself from
the heater.
Then renew the two rubber O-rings, that sit under the connection pipes
(remove 4 screws). I put some grease on the new rings, put it all together
and the heater did not leak any more.

Success.
