Hello,
Yesterday I lost control of the mini resulting in it mounting a grass
verge at about 30 mph, it has bent a wheel up and it looks like it clipped
the botton of the sump as well. I managed to change the wheel no problems
and got home, but when I checked the oil this afternoon (I don't use the car
for work) it was below the level of the dipstick. I think I have knocked
something seriously. Anyway it dosn't really matter as I am getting a
replacement engine soon. What is a problem is that could the impact have
damaged an axel or the rack or indeed the bodywork. It dosn't pull to one
side or anything and I managed to get home safely (130 miles).

Is there anything I should be checking tho when i remove the engine?

Thanks in advance
Nick

Stick a tray under it and fill it up with oil.  See if it pours out.  If it
doesn't, leave it overnight and see if it pours out.  If it is just a couple
of drops you have probably just been remiss in checking your oil and it is
just a coincidence.

As for bent stuff, get underneath and have a look ;)

is the steering wheel still in the level or straight position,
if no,
then you have bent something and its put the tracking out,
if yes,
then do as the Muffin man suggested, have a look underneath for peace of
mind,
