My mate's girlfriend has a year old Mini One 1.6
Currently it is only getting 25 miles per gallon
Her dad phoned the dealer who confirmed that this was correct and to
be expected even though it is advertised at 40+
Sounds crap to me, i have a 2.8 BMW and get 29mpg
Is he being fobbed off?
TIA

I class it as 'that german thing' and leave it at that, using the term mini
around it gives real minis a phobia.

Hello Steve68s
How are you mate,
do you think the fuel consumption will improve if she takes it out of second
gear ??
Seriously though,Doug
you are in the wrong newsgroup ,
take it back to the dealer and complain,
my 1990 325i regularly did 33mpg,
I have a feeling the dealer will tell you that when the car has completed
20.000 miles, it's fuel economy will settle down and improve,
This is sometimes true
you could also try

but you might get a similar reception,

hi
I bought a new car in november and looked at the new mini, what a sh.t box
! there is more boot space in my 92 cooper and they even make you pay for a
spare wheel. You gotta be really dumb to buy one. ( I guess thats why
americans love them )
For little more than the cost of a cooper I got a 180bhp leon cupra, so now
i have a cooper and a cupra ... life is sweet :-)

didn't know they a Mini as a 1.6L, I have mine bored to 1380cc, but thats
about as big as they go with out getting to radical...is the 1.6L engine a
Honda conversion kit? or could it be your reffering to a BMW Hatch Back??
you know the Allegro sized thing with the Chrysler Engine in it?
