Hi all, I need to recondition my SU hs4 carby. I was just wondering if
anyone knows what is included in the kits that are sold. It seems that some
brands include the spindle & butterfly valve and some don't. Any advice
would be helpful.

If you buy the genuine SU kit, the full kit is known as a rebuild (or
repair) kit and
the one without butterfly and spindle is a service kit. None of them include
a main metering needle because the kits cover a range of carbs. The needle
is the part that makes the carb specific to any given engine.
You will get main jet, float needle and seat, gaskets, seals, etc. Plus
butterfly, spindle, screws, etc in the rebuild kit.
Be armed with the carb number (on an aluminium tag, FZX1415 or similar) to
be sure of getting the right kit.
The genuine SU kits are expensive, but at least you can be sure of good
quality parts.
