Unless the Mini is an Austin America or Canadian model, it has to come from
somewhere else anyway...originally. So I would think that anyone selling
Minis in the USA would have to pay the shipping at some point, passing off
the expense to the ultimate buyer.
GBP ?695 is now almost U.S. $1300, so I think even a year ago I got a good
deal at just over $1000 for "RORO" shipment to the west coast (Seattle area
even).

Minis were sold in the U.S. from about 1960 through 1967. There are
still a surprising number in existance.
