If I were to purchase an original mini in  the UK what would the shipping
charges to the USA be?  East coast port

Thanks

These will probably vary as different companies will have different rates,
you would be best to get a few quotes. I know from my work that we can get a
crate (similar size and weight to a mini) to Hong Kong from Scotland,
cheaper than going to Europe, both by sea/road. The only other way is to
find out if there is anybody with a partially full container shipping to the
US, and "sharing" the cost.

Best to drive it on price wise.

I imported a Mini a year ago to Tacoma, Washington from Denmark, shipped
from Bremerhaven (Germany) via a roll-on, roll-off ship (shipper was
Wallenius Wilhemsen) for $1028.50.  To east coast it may be less, who
knows...but hopefully this helps a little at least.

Of course, with the U.S. dollar plummeting, it probably costs more now!!!

Was that delivered by sea to the west coast, (presumably Seattle or
Portland?) or to the east coast and then trucked/trained across? Did you
pick it up from a freight depot or was it to your door?

I was thinking of shipping my motorcycle from Australia to Vancouver
(and home again later) for an extended holiday a few years ago. As it
happened I hired a car for just one week which cost not much less in the
end.

Hello, would it not be cheaper just to buy a mini in the states?
I would imagine the shipping costs would be expensive given the state of the
$ against the ?.......have a look here: http://ibuyminis.us/Default.htm
Also this uk company ships to the usa, they state The cost of shipping to the
USA starts from around GBP ?595 to the East Coast for roll-on-rolloff and
GBP ?695 to the West  but I think the mini must be 25 years or older?
try here: http://raq662.uk2net.com/minis/export.htm
hope this helps,mark.w

Unless the Mini is an Austin America or Canadian model, it has to come from
somewhere else anyway...originally.  So I would think that anyone selling
Minis in the USA would have to pay the shipping at some point, passing off
the expense to the ultimate buyer.

GBP ?695 is now almost U.S. $1300, so I think even a year ago I got a good
deal at just over $1000 for "RORO" shipment to the west coast (Seattle area
even).

Minis were sold in the U.S. from about 1960 through 1967. There are
still a surprising number in existance.

Cheers,

Kelley

Motorbike hire in Vancouver was more expensive than car hire, and they
were only 250cc bikes!

It was delivered directly by sea to the Port of Tacoma; I drove up from
Portland with a borrowed trailer and picked it up.
