How do you get the front mounting pins on the rear subframe out? I've tryed
undoing the pins but they just turn. These are the pins with the flat head
with two holes in them. Is there a special tool readily available, or will I
have to make one, or is there a simple technique?

Thanks
Kevin

Hi,
Ring spanner on the nuts and mole grips on the head then they should come
out. I take it you have the subframe out of the car?

I do have the frame out of the car. Is there a way of doing this without the
mole grips, I don't want to damage the pins.

Hi,
Difficult without the correct size peg spanner. The only other way I can
suggest is to carefully cut down two sides of the nut with a hacksaw so that
the nut will virtually fall off the thread, and then fit a new nut.

Hi there

When I did my subframe, it only cost a few extra quid to get a pack of
orange polyflex bushes and new pins and mounting bolts etc.

I'd already got them ready for the job, so just hacked away at the old ones.

They looked nice for a bit, but the winter has taken the shine of them a
bit.

Hope this helps

Just hack them off any old way you can..... the Mini Shop at Enfield
does a complete rear subframe bolt bush & pin kit for less than £20,
well worth changing all this whilst the subframe is off.
