Locking compound?

I noticed that one of the flywheel housing bolts was missing from my
engine - one of the two that also hold the bracket for the lower
stabilizer arm. I took out another one to use as a pattern when I go to
get a replacement, and it has some sort of pink locking compound on the
threads. Is there something special I should use when I put the bolts back?

Loctite  - there are various strengths -  now comes in sticks. You
should also use with this the cleaning spray for maximum strength.

And, of course, the local Rover dealer hadn't got one - The usual head
shaking, like I'm asking for a part for a lunar landing craft or
something, and "Funny you should ask for one of those, our Lincoln
dealer has been trying to get one since February" - Mental image of some
poor sod's Mini gathering dust for three months in the corner of the
workshop...

A local engineering fastenings company found me a bolt the right length
and thread that will do for now, but it isn't plated, and the head is
wrong. So, where in the UK might I get the correct bolt?

Off another Mini.

Ideally one which isn't using it, such as a bent one at a wreckers!
