Farting twin point concern

Hi folks!

Can anyone help in the identification of a fart noise i have on my twin
point.
I have just put an avonbar extra hard engine steady bush kit on the car, at
the same time i needed to take off the air filter box and the odd hose to
get hands and sockets down to remove the steady bar and fit the new bushes.
After that the car seemed to exhibit some vibration thru the floor, i
guessed that this was due to the new bushes, the vibration occurs when the
car is stationary and is okay until i hope the bushes wear a little and the
vibes stop.
BUT!
When i am driving the car accelerating up a slight hill in 3rd or 4th gear,
the farting noise from the front is very noticable.
I have changed the air filter O ring, i have replaced the canister gasket on
the bell housing and checked the hoses that feed into the breating system,
but the noise is still there, i have even dismantled the air filter box and
put it back together, but to no avail.
The noise is very reminisant of a mini without an air filter, so the only
thing i can think of is that the noise isnt air at all, but vibration thru
the bulk head from the engine running at a certain rev in certain driving
conditions.

Any other ideas?

Hi Jono,
It sounds like you have put the air filter element in wrong way round, or
the air filter box is loose,
when you said you have fitted a new  air filter "O" ring, was it the same
thickness as the old one, this might be causing the air filter to rattle
inside the air box,
take the air box off, or the filter out and try it !!

Hi Fitzy,
Thanks for the advice, i completly overhauled the air filter, the plugs, the
hoses, the ducts, added unleaded redex to the tank, and it hasnt done it in
ages. The noise now seems though it wasnt any of that, it was a vibration
thru the new steady bushes that i fitted, they are extra hard polyurathane
ones and have melted to the extent that the engine rocks freely. The company
have kindly put in the post some normal ones as replacement and will be
fixing the problem at the weekend.

Thanks for the suggestions, the knock was a dodgy new poly stabiliser mount,
a new H D rubber one has fixed the problem. The fart noise has gone now
aswell, so wether it was vibration or a blocked injector im not sure but its
fine now after some greif. Just tyres next, after 9500 miles and 2 years
they need changing all round!

Thanks for the tip, i want 165.60.12's, HMS sell them for ?100, but i will
shop locally soon and see if i can get them for less, i want falkens because
i have used them before and they wear well, they stick out from the rims
unlike my current 145's which look like rubber bands wrapped around a cotton
reel!
