How much does an A series with gearbox attached weigh? I need to get quotes for shipping and all I have is my guess of about 200kg. Anyone got a Haynes manual about that has it? On the other hand the vehicle weights are pretty much right, sooo..... Whatever the weight I just know the last time I lifted one I needed a sit down for a while afterwards - and there I was thinking there'd be no need for an engine hoist! Graeme The Australian Morris 1100 manual gives the following weights: Engine 254 lb. (115 kg) Gearbox 69 lb. (31 kg) Engine and transmision assembly 339 lb. Engine and transmission assembly 357 lb. (162 kg) Automatic transmission 112 lb. (50.8 kg) So the auto is about 20 kg heavier than the manual. That sounds about right, the Minimatic is heavier than a standard Mini. The epicyclic automatic gearbox has a lot less empty space inside it! |
